Here I am speaking to you, whoever you might be who finds yourself here curious about what I do and my work. For some time I have been wondering and thinking about writing a blog and for some time I thought, who am I to be writing a blog. Something happened recently that compelled me to make the leap into the blogosphere. A few weeks ago I was tagged in a post by a writer and physicist Samuel Peralta. In his post he announced that he would be sending a time capsule to the moon during this coming summer and in the time capsule he would be including a collection of issues of the magazine Poets and Artist. My name was tagged because my work is included in some of these issues. By doing this he thought it would be a great way to put as much art in space as he possibly could. When I read this I paused and thought about it for some time. The idea that my work would have a place in space was and still in hard to comprehend. Who and what would ever see my work and how would it be be received and with that thought I turned to this post and thought the same thing. Who will see this post and how will it be received. All I can do is create then comes the time for me to let it go so here am letting it go.
If you would like to hear more about how how Samuel Peralta plans to send art to the moon click here to here his interview with Sergio Gomez.
Here is a time-lapse of a painting I completed recently for a portrait painting class. My students wanted to see how I developed this piece after the class so I filmed it and condensed it. I have about 3 1/2 hours total into this painting. I hope you enjoy it!
How lovely to hear from you, Andrea!
Hopefully your Summer will go well and you might have time to squeeze in an online class? Samuel Peralta has a very good idea. I wonder what form the publication will take? Digital? He was wise to think of including your work!
